ABOUT US

Who Are We?

The Diss Commuinity Team is a group of local traders and residents who have come together with the aim of improving and rejuventating our high street.

We believe that Diss has much to offer, and is a great place to live and visit.

What is No 8 Marketplace?

Everyone in Diss has been aware that the former Beales strore has loomed empty and forlorn over the market place in the heart of town. After much discussion with the owners we were able to reach an agreement allowing us to reclaim the space and with a great deal of hard work by volunteers and a select group of independent traders, No 8 Marketplace opened its doors on the 4th of August 2023.

What Next?

Our plan is to encourage aspiring individual traders to join us. We've also invited the Town Council to expand the outdoor Friday market by offering 100 square metres of covered space to new stall holders, thereby encouraging more people into the town.

Moving forward the upstairs ballroom will become a community space offering events, fairs, workshops, presentations and more

Octagon Arts offers contemporary arts and crafts by some of East Anglia's leading artists and makers.

Ceramics, jewellery, metalwork, textiles, leather and prints are on sale as well as a range of original greetings cards
